After the historic day in Egypt, I wanted to write about the day I never thought will come during my life-time.
Then I found a video posted by an Arabic news station, (Click here to be directed to the video on my blog), that had a mesmerizing introduction about Egypt’s revolution. I thought to myself, I can never emulate such a piece, so I decided to translate it as best I can.
**********************
In the presence of the glorious revolutions of Oraby, Zaghlool and Abd Al-Nassir
The high dam and October war
With Jamal’s tears when stepping down
Egypt, the magnificence of its Nile, its shaded land and the poorness of its millions
They swore by the turmoil of Gaza, the siege of Rafah, the martyrs of Sinai and their scattered remains
They pledged to banish anyone who eliminated their history, forced their people to supplicate at other nation’s doors, and who belittled their role from being a leading Arab country into a dead crossing
**********************
Hosni Mubarak has collapsed in Eighteen days of the revolution, he departed with his Vice President Omar Suleiman, who did not even complete one day of his presidential delegations. Both the President and the Semi-President have been overthrown, which allowed Egypt not only to crease the page of the Thirty year oppression, and selling themselves cheap to the United States, but to actually fold it.
The final Pharaoh has been defeated by the hands of his citizens, after he humiliated his people for so long. They have put out the fire in their veins that represented their struggle and their Arab-ism.
**********************
Mubarak annihilated Egypt from its Arab surroundings, he spread rumors among his ranks to have the leisure of playing with his corrupt diplomatic cards and the Egyptian Minster of Media. Doing that allowed him to apprehend the media, seal every crack, and abolish any channel that spoke against his regime.
The President stepped down, without a “thank you” speech for the fortune he gained from all the people’s hard work
He stepped down after leaving with Seventy billion along with curses that will follow him from a nation that will never forget their bitterness
**********************
The nation desired and overthrew the President, along with him they brought down a life-time of devotion to America and Israel whom cheated the Egyptians out of their gas and their children’s warmth. They forced the heroes of October to bow their heads in shame as the Convention of Camp David went on
************************
The enraged nation was suppressed during the aggression against Gaza and were prevented from offering a helping hand to their brothers on the other side.
The hearts of the Egyptians were burning as the regime was building a steel wall and fencing
the barricade with wires
Crossing the wall was forbidden, and only was allowed for Benjamin Netanyahu when longing to eat breakfast in Ramadan with Mr. President
The nation spoke with a black cloud of history lingering around their heads, but the Eighteenth day was a blessed day for all the Egyptians
**********************
The difference between the two recent historic events, the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions, is that the Tunisian President, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, was recorded in history as more resilient than the Egyptian President
Mohammad Al-BoAzizi burnt himself on the Seventeenth of December and Bin Ali was brought down on the Fourteenth of January. This means that the Tunisian regime has resisted one month. On the other hand, Mubarak’s regime was demolished within Eighteen days. The most ironic of all is, millions of Egyptians protested against Mubarak, and the President did not find any groups supporting him except the thugs he let loose. So, where did the 99% votes he gained in the polls? Where are the four hundred and seventy-six congressmen that were elected by Egypt’s millions?
The million phonies have been replaced with Egypt’s authentic millions
**********************
Egypt, the country that will blossom without allowing the west to adopt it’s nation’s revolutions. Harvesting time has come so soon, and Washington aligned itself on the boarders to welcome the Egyptian nation after Washington betrayed their ally. They maintained their silence during the revolution and only spoke after the strongest arose.
The brave nation spoke of truth. “The regime will fall in the mid-day hours”
**********************
Mubarak has left the authority with broken wings. The army took his place in ruling the country.
Khalid Saed’s blood has been avenged and the Arabist blood returned to the veins of all Egyptians
Some nations welcomed the change others scratched their heads nervously.
A nation’s voice overthrew the regime!!!!!!!
